New Exhibition with pieces by local artist Gileta Didbarzdyte

Exhibition runs from Wednesday 7 September to Tuesday 13 September and is FREE to view.

This week, local artist Gileta Didbarzdyte is exhibiting her pieces in our exhibition space. Gileta is a past pupil of St. Patrick’s academy where her passion for textiles started. Moving on to Ulster University, Gileta got a first-class honors degree in Textile Art, Design and Fashion.

Gileta lists sustainability as central to her work and rejects the current obsession with fast fashion. With an ethical approach she uses fixing, darning, mending and embroidery to cover any damage. Gileta works mostly with fabric and thread but experiments with a range of different mediums to allow more textured and dimensional pieces.

Come along to this exhibition and view the artwork on display by local artist Gileta Didbarzdyte.
